derby matchups bets better than "to win"

I agree. I posted in another thread that I was thinking of going against Chris Young in all matchups. Remember this is cumulative not just for the first round. Gotta like Cabrera in most matchups since he's the most experienced in the field and in great form. Although the odds are not so great.

Might bet against Hart in addition to Young.

i guess i agree, of coarse your chances are better but i really dont put much in this (how can you) and i rather just pick my guy and put a half unit on him, if he wins great if not no big deal, but if i start betting a bunch of individual match-ups it could end badly.....gl snow

That's unless you identify a player you think will do poorly. Then you have a better chance of profiting by betting individual matchups AGAINST him. No?

sure that is true but lets be real there a chance anyone can come out and go off, sometimes there pitcher is huge, not saying it a terrible idea as i can certainly see why you would fade certain ppl, i just rather not get into risking a lot of cash on what in the end is pretty much a crapshoot...im happy getting my degen fix taking Holliday (or whoever) at a nice 5to1 or better payout and if it loses no biggy......gl to you whatever you decide

Cabrera -135 [vs. Swisher]
Hart +100 [vs. Swisher]
Holliday -115 [vs. Wells]

I suppose three out of these four should hit at least. Swisher is going to suck, Wells is a bum, while Young is just mediocre, while homer Hart should do well, Holliday has been in-form, while Cabrera is terrific and he is hitting high fly-balls.[/color]

Why is Swisher going to suck? I wouldn't be surprised if he reaches the semis at least. He's got the perfect attitude for this type of thing and plays it up for the fans. Wells may, in fact, be homeless as you contend. I haven't done the research. But he can hit hrs with no problems. You might get 'em all wrong. But gl.

Hart is hugely underrated and he has proven he is capable of hitting HR this season. About Swisher it is just gut feeling and I suppose Vells is really too mediocre to have a run in Derby, no matter the fact he may be powerful. Cabrera is a GOAT and the favorite and Young is the worst in the field in my opinion.
