Haha, Shortstop deserved that. He was very upset with the men lob this game. He prolly went to bed thinking he lost.
P.s I'm loving this power we got going early on in the season.\

Scratch that, he returned. Congrats dude!

Well Angels RL certainly wasn't a very good bet.

We had to sweat it out a little bit, but it was worth it! I really thought Anaheim was going to muster more offense. Fvck it though, we cashed it.

Brendan Harris is a much better player than Nick Punto yet Punto is opening day Third Baseman for the twins. Harris is a guy who can hit .280 with 10 homeruns and 80 rbis, punto is a guy who can go a whole season batting .200 with 0-1 homeruns and 20-30 rbi, and that is not an exagerration, punto's done it before. Yet gardenhire loves him for god knows what reason, i swear they must be lovers sometimes cuz nothing else makes sense. Yes punto is better defensively but that does not make up for the huge difference in their offensive production

Comon gardy get your head outta your azz!
I agree with Gardenhire on this one; Punto is very good defesively, Harris is well below average. I also think your overrating Harris offesive ability - his best year was 12HR, he has hit 13 in 800PA over thre last two -

two years ago they were about the same offesively last year Punto struggeled more than Harris (620 OPS v 670 OPS); but both were sevear liablities at the plate, But Harris was also a liablity in the field where Punto was very good.

how can someone who can play shortstop at the major league level be well below average at third base (a much easier position) Do not see it. Brendan Harris has 1483 major league at-bats with 29 homeruns 156 rbis and a .267 average, this is a severe liability at the plate? His stats from last year lineup damn near exactly with his career stats, 414 at-bats, 6hr, 37 rbis and a .261 average. As you can see my 10 hr analysis is not an overestimation considering he would get 500 at-bats as a starter and in his career he averages roughly 10 hr per 500 at-bats.

Nick Punto, on the other hand, really is a SEVERE liability offensively. Nick's had 2224 career at-bats with a measly 12 hrs, 179 rbis and a .248 batting average. He has had entire seasons with the following batting averages, .239, .210, .228. Last year Punto batted .228 with 1 hr and 38 rbis in 359 plate appearances. He also hit only 15 doubles and 1 triple, 17 extra base hits in 359 at bats , that is what you call a severe lack of power.

Clearly the difference here offensively more than makes up for the defensive difference (especially considering they are fighting for the third base starting position).
