Don't you guys think game 4 should be a complete no play? Burnett is too big a question mark for me to take the Yanks... and the Yanks just got blown out in their home field. Completely blanked by Cliffy. Texas bats have shown up ever since the playoffs started and who's to say that they wont show up against Burnett?

Considering everything I really think this should be a no play. Just my insight though.

Oh Foals, I tried this logic yesterday for game 3. Unfortunately the conclusion we drew is that everyone in this thread, other than latinrus, is a chronic dego gambler who just can't say no. Even I put $5 on the Yankees because I had to have SOMETHING on the damn game. Lifetime record betting in a game involving Pettitte is something like 96-0 I'm sure. For Andy.

LOL you're spot on. Most likely when the game is about to start I'll have a play on any side, total, prop, you name it. This game is too big for any normal gambler to not have action on it.

I've been good MT. Had to go into the hospital last week for 4 surgeries in 3 days and have been hopped up on meds since I got out on Thursday.

Just for the people unfamiliar with Tommy Hunter:

6-3 280 lbs Throws: Right College: Alabama Experience: 2 years

ERA: 3.73. Record: 13-4. Strikeouts: 68. WHIP: 1.24. Opponent Batting Avg.: .255

AJ Burnett

6-4 240 lbs Throws: Right Drafted out of HS. Experience 11 years

ERA: 5.26 Record: 10-15. Strikeouts: 145 WHIP: 1.51. Opponent Batting Avg: .285

They faced each other one time this year @ Texas. Texas won 7-6. Both pichers got No Decisions.
Hunter: 5 IP, 6 hits, 2 ER, 3 BB's, 0 HR, 8 K's
Burnett: 4 IP, 4 hits, 2 ER, 3 BB's, 0 HR, 6 K's

Hunter has an edge on the numbers but Burnett definitely has the experience (including postseason) advantage

if you can't stirke out the yanks, you have problems with them..hunter only has 68 k's on the year.

He did have 8 k's against the yanks this year though in the only matchup against them.

That # is a little deceiving because Hunter had less innings pitched. Burnett averaged 7 K's per 9 innings, while Hunter averaged 4.8 K's per 9 innings

And the biggest mistake was switching Rollins to bat Left instead of Right. Rollins bats better Left than Right because he sees more pitches Left handed.
Bochy messed up there, IMO.

Burnett Wasn't good last year in playoffs

1-1 5.27 era

27.1 ip 16 er

He had one start against the twins that he pitched 6IP gave up 1 er and everyone thinks he had a lights out postseason.

Im a Yankees fan and a burnett backer but he wasn't that great last year in the postseason...

Because Hunter can't strike out the Yanks, which means he'll put people on base, which ultimately means they'll score runs.
