Thursday Dog Pound (3 Dogs and a Puppy)
    All bets are already in.

    DOGS

Giants +140 - Two words: Tim Lincecum!

Blue Jays +115 - Yes, Escobar is good, but have you seen McGowan lately? Nice value as home dog.

Tigers +130 - Another great price for a quality pitcher (Verlander), and Mussina has been very erratic this year.

    PUPPY
Diamondbacks +101 - Calling them puppies because I see price ranges from +102 (darn, could have waited for another tick...lol) to -110.

As always, all prices above are prices I bet the games at. I understand that I could now buy back the Braves at -135 over the Giants, but I never do those things as I am conent with knowing I got the best of the line. After all, there is a reason I bet teams in the first place, so why in effect cancel a wager to collect 5 cent scalp when I feel I have posiitive expectation to win?

      AC,

No guarantee that Escobar will be pitching indoors tonight (depends on roof), not that I care about those things.

          AC,

Actually he is 2-0 AGAINST the Jays in Toronto. He did win a bunch of games in Toronto when he was WITH the Jays, so yes he knows the ballpark. I just think that McGowan is undervalued right now, as his current form is far superior to his YTD numbers.

If you include his home numbers when he was with the Jays, he won a lot more than two games there.

Surprisingly, Escobar was just 26-32 lifetime at home while he was a member of the Blue Jays. So if you add in his 2-0 record as an opposing pitcher, he is 28-32 lifetime in this stadium.

                      AC,

You know me, I bascially disregard any pitcher vs. team stat that is more than two years old.

The above was for information purposes only. And no, Escobar being 2-0 does not push me off of McGowan as a home dog.

and it shouldn't since mcgowen has slightly better numbers except for ERA and that is only slightly different. I wouldn't expect you to change your bet cause me I simply am stating I like the angels.

And as you mentioned they should have pounded the Angels yesterday, twice with bases juiced they came away with one run, almost squandered Marcum's gem.

Toronto has been known to sputter offensively, saw it when they were in KC and even at home. I coudn't play Toronto today, now the UNDER is a different story.

With Escobar pitching he's given up 3 runs or less in 7 straight starts and 11 of 12. With McGowan pitching 12 of last 15 starts 3 earned runs or less...the under looks good here.

Bold picks LT , you got balls . In your favor is thursday is dog night more so than not . To me Lincecum is like the biggest unknown on a high school baseball team but he has a catchy winner type name so coach starts him and he does have great stuff but the assisstant coach just doesnt know if he should start against one of the schools fiercest rivals in a playoff game . Another words he just might get rocked in ga tonight and the head coach never saw it comin but the assisstant had because he had cases like this in previous years and he reminded him of past pitchers not ready yet to battle the best far away from home . Sorry for the gibba jabba . Am on Braves .

My wifey went 3 - 0 tonight with As Phils D-Backs , she is not a pro capper , the results just turned out that way to make it look like she was . She has nailed 10 team parlays and everything , is not that hard , dont mean to type this on any given thread to LT or anyone just sharing real live action without startign a new thread for the alcoholics to trash . I include her every day and she has some knowledge but nothing like crunching #s and all that . Some days it is too ez , here 3 too ez and everybody o earth agree , of course not , I agreed with hers though and was a consensus between the 2 of us . Consensus picks between 2 very active investors is the way you do it . If the play does not fall into consensus between you and your other reliable capper then pass on it .

If you do a search on my MLB posts, you will see that a lot of my selection threads have a dog theme to them, so me playing this many dogs in one night is not unusual.
