I have lost it-not to mention a bank roll
I have used this site for some time. I even look at the picks from the usuals. However, I can't catch a break. Last month I was above 62%. This week alone-My goodness-8 losers in a row. The rush of sports betting is cruel and rediculous.

    I need a pep talk.

i also went up and down like a frigging yo yo the last couple weeks
a couple things have always helped me right the ship:
baseball-only a couple of DOGS per day
NO LONGSHOT + over say 150 dogs

    ABSOLUTELY NO TOTALS

    ABSOLUTELY NO FAVORITES

make a small 3 (no more) team parlay if you have to bet some favorites

    OR
bet only your standard unit on favorite if you must:
for instance you like a team that is -185
bet only your standard amont you would bet on dogs ($100, $500 or whatever)
so you'll only win say $54 for a $100 bet
if you win take your standard amount ($100) + what you won yesterday($54) and bet $154 on your best favorite of the next day
thus you have parlayed $100 on your best bet from yesterday to your best bet today
of course you can do the same thing with dogs
and keep going as long as you feel comfortable before you start a new parlay

          Macdaddy,

If 8 in a row knocked out your bankroll, you are playing too much... it's a marathon, not a sprint.

But of course, if you hit 62% the month before, you probably already know that. So take a few days, refresh, and back to the basics.

          Good luck

Mac, do some small bets (100 or less) until you get your confidence back. Just wait for locks. Don't bet every day just yet.

You can make money on favorites - just set a price that you will not go over. Mine is usually between -125 & -130. After that, you're throwing away too much money on a 50-50 proposition.

Great point, EaglesPhan. On the rare occasion that I decide to play a favorite in baseball, its never over -125.

I also stay away from the runlines on favorites...

Ok, over 62% last month. What"s the average here. I've read that 50-53% is normal & you'll still make money.
                    True or not?
                    Thanks

If you're playing huge favorites, you can go 70% and still lose money.

That's why underdogs are the smart play and have most of the value when betting baseball.

If I only play underdogs, I can pick 50% and make money. It makes betting baseball much easier...

While NEVER betting favorites may be a good thing, I'd say its also ok to bet small faves of -125 or less.

Why is everybody afraid of Totals? My advice would me consider the UNDER if both teams are in the Top 10 in the Majors in bullpen ERA, and consider the OVER if both teams are in the bottom 10 in pen ERA.

Finally, give more weight to BULLPENS than any other factor. The betting line is based 80% on starting pitchers, making starters overrated IMO and the bullpens undervalued.
