why are all you guys on the padres

My guess is:

Justin Germano 2-0 0.47 ERA after 3 starts in the majors. Plus the Padres have one of the best pens in the majors.

So a -118 with the Padres is pretty good value.

I'm passing on the game.

Yes, Germano was also quite good in the minors. I think he is for real here, and Vargas, while he is good too, has vulnerabilities such as wildness that could cost him a run or two. I would never take the SD RL in this one, and if ever there were a game where it might be a good idea to try to bet for a one-run home team win (by betting the home team ML and the road team plus RL) this would be it.

But I see value here just with SD, as a small favorite. I think they should be more in the -140 range or so.

I'm actually not liking SD at all now, I am leaning towards Mil.
