Bit of a shambles to say the least, now Boston up 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth.

Is Papelbon injured? He didn't close last night nor does he appear to be doing it tonight. Or is he still in a strop after giving away the homer the other day?

I don't know why Papelbon didn't pitch tonight. Last night was understandable considering he threw 37 pitches the night before.

All I see is that we put Timlin on the DL today, nothing about Papelbon.

35 pitches is a lot for a hard-throwing reliever, it's 1/3 of a whole start. I'm sure they're just playing it safe. If it were the playoffs he would have been in, no doubt.
