Uncle Barry does it again.
SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco Giants left fielder Barry Bonds collected his 743rd career home run in Wednesday night's fourth inning against the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park.
Bonds now trails all-time home run leader Hank Aaron by 12.
With one out in the fourth, Rockies starter Jeff Francis hit Rich Aurilia with a pitch. Up came Bonds, who lined Francis' first delivery onto the right-field arcade.
It was Bonds' ninth homer of the season and second of his career off Francis. He also has hit 52 homers against Colorado in his career.
Bonds, a left-handed batter, has defied the percentages against Francis and other left-handers, hitting .421 (8-for-19) off them through his fourth-inning at-bat.
Bonds, who has eight homers in his last 16 games, needs to score three more runs to tie Aaron and Ruth for third place on the all-time list for runs scored with 2,174.
