    anyone had this experience
you all know that cubs and pirates games got suspended on the bottom of the 7th. even though i bet on the cubs on the money line, 5dimes still count it as a loss because they said according to the rules, the game will count up to the last full inning. so the 4 runs that the cubs scored at the top of the 7th inning did not count. even though the cubs were ahead 6-5 when they called the game, 5dimes still say cubs lost that game because cubs was trailing 2-5 before the 7th and the 6th inning was the last complete inning.

anyone else got screwed like this on tuesday's cubs pirates game? is this standard rules for all the sportsbooks or the 5dimes just screwed me?

    any comments?

    that sounds fvcked up
i think i had a suspended game once and it was a no play
i could see their point if it was called a complete game afer six but not a suspended game

      Picoman,

Yes that is the standard rule. I addressed this repeatedly in a thread in the Players Talk forum, so go there for the gory details.

      Brutal loss bro.

found the other thread. but this is about a suspended baseball game, so i think i should start a thread here as well. that is a ****ed up rule. i think i am going to bet the home team whenever there is a rain cloud coming.

          Pico,

Fair enough, so let me post the applied rule here in the baseball forum:

For betting purposes, if a game is called after five innings but before completion, moneyline grading is based on the score after the last COMPLETED inning unless the HOME team has just tied or taken the lead, in which case the grading will be based on the score at the time of suspension.

In this specific case, it was the ROAD team that just took the lead, so that becomes academic and the official score reverts to the end of the sixth inning, Pirates 5, Cubs 2.

I just found out about this rule this morning too. Fortunately I was on the winning side. But I agree that it is a bit strange.

my friends, me toooooo have $ on cubs last night, i barely found out about this rule this morning!
what even makes me more pissed off is that i have philies rolling after cubs!

so the cubs have completed 2nd game with win, i have $ on the series. does this 2nd game still count as a win for cub?

Actually that is an excellent question regarding series bets. I think rule varies from book to book. At some books, all three games must be played on date scheduled. At others, I think series bet stands if all games are played before third scheduled date (in other words, if one of first two games is PPD, but made up as doubleheader inside same three-day period, series bet stands). Also, how do you handle it if one team wins first two games, in effect "clinching" series, but third game is PPD? Does everyone get a refund? Again, all I could suggest is read the rules of your specific book.

                  * Note: Series prices are for Mon, Tue and Wed games only. Games must be played on dates scheduled, Games must be played at the site scheduled, All three games must be official for the moneyline, If game is postponed, no action

i paste this from the site, so this looks like im still in action!
