    CHC -125 today
I am going to play the Cubs today. I know Sheets is pitching for MIL and MIL is as good as any team this year in MLB (at least so far) but Sheets has been a bit off this year since his first start of the season against the Dodgers. On the other hand, Lilly has been lights out so far but his record does not reflect it. He hasn't gotten the run support at all despite the strong pitching.

With MIL having taken the first two of the series, the Cubs will be desperate for a win. Plus the Cubs fall into a nice system today that plays on teams with a strong strikeout pitcher (>5 per game) who is opposed by an equally strong pitcher. Moreover, this is the first time that the BrewCrew has faced Lilly....major advantage there for the Cubs. On the other hand, the Cubs are very familiar with Sheets. The big thing here with Lilly is that he should neutralize Prince Fielder and Geoff Jenkins who will be on the bench since he doesn't play against lefties anymore. Despite MIL being 6-1 against southpaws this year, they were only 19-20 against them a season ago...so you can expect them to regress back to the mean here.

Since the Brew Crew enetered the Senior Circut, the Cubs and Brewers are 72-72 against one another. As you can see a very competitive series where neither team has really been able to dominate one another.

Expect a strong outing from Lilly and the Cubs to salvage this final game here.

    Play: 904 Chicago Cubs -125

Interesting take BB. I think this line is very close to what it should be, I think runs will be at a premium today, so it should be close to even with a small edge to Chicago. I'd take Milwaukee as a dog if I had to choose a side. I think I like the under a decent amount actually, even at 7 with big fave odds. Lilly claims he likes pitching in cold weather. And if Sheets has a solid game, it'll be hard to get over 7 in the rain with a wind blowing in.

Yup, my Brewers play went down the toilet quick.

                      What happened to Sheets? Injury?

nice to get a break...i got a very bad line at -125 considering it closed like at -111. But now Lilly -125 against Dessens is a bargain. I think CHC would still have won even with Sheets in there but this makes it much easier. I meant to include in my write up that Sheets is prone to injury and this type of weather could make that likely.

Still a ways to go and these are the Cubs but it's a good feeling.
