Take Texas +130 over Pale Hose

The Rangers should be in an ornery mood after being no-hit last night, so look for them to take out some frustration on Javier Vasquez, who they have pummeled in the past, and pull the upset.

What we have here is a Texas team that was no-hit by Mark Buehrle last night, and is sending out an 0-3 starter in Vicente Padilla to face the 2-0 Javier Vasquez.

However, things are not always as easy as they seem, and the aforementioned facts actually combine to give us some nice line value on the Rangers in this spot. After all the White Sox are hitting a disgusting .215 as a team this season, which in itself makes them a poor proposition when favored by this much. Secondly, Padilla has been very successful vs. the Sox with three Quality Starts in four career outings against them, and in his last two appearances against Chicago, he allowed a grand total of one earned run in 15 innings of work.

Finally, Vasquez allowed a total of 11 earned runs on a whopping 21 hits in just 12.1 innings over his last two starts vs. Texas, so look for the Rangers to pull the upset in this situation.

    Play: Rangers +130

I don't know about this, the White Sox lineup is sure to wake up at some point, and it will probably be soon. The no-hitter may well spark them. Texas is not a team with good character, they are the kind of team more likely to wilt after a no-hitter than to bounce back. Padilla's success vs them and Vazquez' bad starts vs Texas are probably anomalous, given the high volatility both pitchers have had over recent years. I think the number is short here for the Sox.
