Just heard this one on the pre-game show. Carpenter will be out with Elbow inflammation, and will at least miss 1 start.

Cardinals place Carpenter on the 15 day DL Monday.

A MRI exam in St. Louis revealed arthritis and a previously undiscovered impingement in his right elbow.

The guy taking Carpenter's turn is a real shitbox. If Keisler completes three innings it will be a minor miracle.

I'm curious to see who LaRussa will put in the lineup today. If he starts to tinker with the main stays in it then Pitt. will have some super strong value.

Keisler's actually pitching very effectively. Either he brokered a deal with Satan or swapped DNA with Randy Johnson. I'm sure he appreciates pitching the game of his life while the Cardinals have the equivalent of 5 pitchers in the batting order.

The Cards sure do seem to have a hard time get runs on the board.
