Atlanta Braves Have Some Huge Decisions Ahead:
Knowing the Braves GM and what he did with the team last year, most notably at the trade deadline, it’s a certainty he’ll be looking to make several well thought through trades before/at the trade deadline. But what does he do? Just got announced the Adam Duvall is now out for the season requiring surgery. We now need another outfielder almost certainly. (I personally wish we could just trade Acuña for Juan Soto straight up but the Nats know what they have in Soto.) So the Braves now need an outfielder. Wouldn’t mind seeing Joc Pederson or even Jorge Soler return.

Then there’s the uncertain future for this season going forward as to what’s going to happen with Ozzie Albies. The Braves might very well need a solid starting 2nd baseman.

Then to top it off, Ian Anderson is struggling mightily in his role inside the Braves starting pitching rotation. The Braves might want to snag one more solid starter if they’re looking to attempt to defend their WS title.

As a lifelong Braves fan and especially after last season, I always will believe the Braves can get into the playoffs, and from there…the hottest team will win. I know Alex Anthopoulos (the GM) will go after the pieces he thinks the Braves need…in order to be serious contenders in October. All that being said, he’s got his work cut out for himself (probably even more than last season,) this year.

Whether or not you like or can’t stand the Braves, if you’re a baseball fan…what do you think the Braves top 1 or even 2 priorities should be right now, as far as what position (players) should they go after the hardest before the trade deadline?

Super curious to hear people’s thoughts on this one. The Mets will be tough to beat for the division. More/Most importantly though, what will the Braves need in October if they’re to have any shot of defending their WS title this season?

Duvall was only platooning vs, LHP anyway and Contreras has decent enough pop in his bat to fill that role.
