Looks like they actually picked up the only point they didn't have last week in all the computer polls. It was the human polls that changed the standings.

Not surprising, though. When there's only 7/100 of a percentage point separating 1 and 2, a flip-flop isn't that surprising.

And, really, I don't have a horse in this race, but am I the only one that thinks it's somewhat unfair for Texas to be penalized for a bad first half when USC's had about three? I feel like Texas is getting punished just because it's fresh in the minds of the voters, but that doesn't mean that USC's struggles didn't happen.

That's true, Winston. I didn't check every week's points but my guess is USC was way on top to begin with and Texas slowly reduced the margin. And as you say, it is so close now that it could change every week.

1st or, 2nd shouldn't really matter. just as long as your in the top two at the end of the season, is all that really matters to these two teams really.

USC had +.0332 over Texas 2 weeks ago. Went down to -.0007 last week and ahead this week +.0038.

I don't think Va Tech could dump either one. Unless of a disaster. I'd rather see Tex-USC at the Rose Bowl.

Maybe not, but they are the only team in the country who has been impressive every week.

Actually I strongly disagree with you, I think VTech would have a very good chance of beating either one. USC would be in for quite the surprise against that defense (who is the best defensive team they've played? Arizona?) in my opinion.

If Tech can find a way to beat #6 Miami this week and #9 FSU in the ACC championship game, they could have a small chance of passing Texas.

I'm sure we will have many a discussion as to which two of those three should meet for the Championship. I just hope that next January, it will be clear that the 2 teams at the Rose Bowl are the best and/or the most deserving to be there. I know it's a problem almost every year but I hate the idea of a playoff system.

As for VaTech's chances, I believe that only a Texas or USC counter-performance could get them in the Rose Bowl. Always possible. But I think it is out of Hokies' hands.
