Hello, I just wanted to know if there is anybody interesting in trying to develop a mathematical forecasting model for mlb games.
I've done some models that are somehow accurate, but I would like to work with a partner that has deep mathematical, statistical and baseball knowledge in order to make this thing work!
Here is a little of the basics of what ive been trying to do:
Face picthers vs team batting (last 3, last 5 and against the arm of the starting pitcher)
Then the same but with the other team
Then the same with both teams against the relief pitching.
The add some stats of the local/visiting stats, winning streak, etc
Etc etc etc
It is kind of linear regression, that in the end gives a team a % o winning each game.
