The 9.th inning was a nightmare for those who bet on the Cards...(I didn't, but I am a Cards fan)
2 MISP 0 out 2-1 Houston lead, man on 1st 3rd base.....Sanders why on earth didn't try to sac bunt?
After it, that DP from Mabry...sigh...I don't know what would happen if Larussa was still on the bench...Mabry suxx...
Also, the umps very horrible....That call in the 8th inning was funny...just as many calls during the game...

Your right jj, he does seem to choke in the post season. Taking away the '89 world series he's what 1-12 in his other 3 world series he managed in. Thank God i'm from Cleveland where we dont have expectations.

He is such an underachiever. This guy has a good record because he manages great teams with high payrolls like the Yanks

In my opinion, Larussa can't manage a bullpen to save his life. He finally makes it through a season with the Cardinals without sending a couple of his pitchers to the DL by the postseason. I also don't think that he has the strategy for the NL, but someone will bring up the point he can run a suicide squeeze play to perfection. You can not win with a 7th grader batting leadoff. The outfielders play just beyond the infield grass knowing the only hope the kid has is to bloop a single.
I am a huge Brewers fan and am spoiled by having the best manager in the majors. Give Ned Yost a power pitching #1 or 2 guy or a solid bullpen and a batter the opposing team is afraid to pitch to and the Brewers will have a good shot this year.
If they can get some value out of Overbay in the offseason, I think the Brewers can compete in 2006.
