Even though these two have 'surprised' us a bit with a couple of unders so far, I like the over 8 as well. I've got a 6-4 score on my mind for some reason right now.

He is, Scotty. But it's slight as you say and you have to check out the names of the pitchers he saw this year. He worked 36 games, so there are 72 starting pitchers he called games for. And more than a third of them are what I'd call 'big name' pitchers that you would expect a game to be low scoring:

          David Wells
          Tim Hudson
          Kelvim Escobar (2)
          Roy Oswalt
          Erik Bedard
          Roger Clemens
          Dan Haren
          Ted Lilly
          Doug Davis
          Kenny Rogers (2)
          AJ Burnett
          Dontrelle Willis
          Jason Schmidt
          Jon Garland
          Chris Young
          Matt Cain
          Jeff Suppan
          Justin Verlander
          Curt Schilling (2)
          Chien-Ming Wang
          Bronson Arroyo
          Kevin Millwood

Granted, he's got another big name tonight in Chris Carpenter. But he also never saw the Mets and their high-octane offense this year. Earlier this morning I saw Pinnacle had the o/u for the Mets alone at 3½, and this is the same Mets that got to Carpenter for three runs in the first inning a few days ago. Personally, I think 8½ or even 9 would have made a better o/u line than 8.

I'm thinking the Mets will get to Carpenter tonight early, and often. That stands to make my opinion on this game going over

I think that Billy Wagner had a bet on the over. In fact, he always seems like he has a bet on the over.

Wagner always seems to give up a few runs like that though taco.
