This gives the Cardinals a change to move Carptener to start game 1 if they choose too.

Nice way to accentuate the positive.

I'm sorry for a lot of Mets fans I know who had tickets and were looking forward to this game. But I'm also sort of happy that FOX had one of their two prime time games rained out. Have I mentioned lately how much I despise FOX?

EDIT: Am guessing they make it up Friday afternoon now, would make the most sense unless FOX decides to make them play it at night for a NYC prime time game and then travel to play a Saturday afternoon game. I did mention that I hate FOX, right?

Roger on that, Ivy I hate that I have to have my TV on MUTE for so much of the great October baseball. But if I don't mure Buck, McCarver, Psycho Lyons and the rest, I end up getting mad at the TV and lose interest in the game.

As for yesterday's rainout...FOX had weather reports early, early this week that pointed to their being a greater chance for rain in New York as Wednesday wore on. They KNEW there was a much better chance to get the Mets-Cards game in during the afternoon. But god forbid that any New York team ever play a postseason game that's not in prime time

I understand the notion of putting these games on during time slot that most of the country will be watching. But they sh!t on every other team in order to get New York, and mainly the Yankees, on in prime time. And the people who get screwed with the most are the Left Coasters.

Since I haven't said it yet today, it bears mentioning here: I despise, deplore, detest, am revulsed by and disgusted with FOX.

That cancellation really hurts the Mets. They've got Glavine slated to go on 3 days rest now, which has not been a good situation for him in his career, especially in the playoffs. Since Trachsel and Perez both have a reasonable chance of an early exit in the prior two games, the Mets could run into trouble in game 4. Probably one of their relievers will save the day by going 4 or 5 shutout innings in one of the games, but still, the cancellation is a small blow to the Mets.
