Tigers, A's Under 8½
Game Time: 10/11/2006 8:19:00 PM
By: Pacific Star
Expect another low-scoring contest tonight when the Tigers and Athletics play Game 2 of the ALCS in Oakland.
We had a nice winner on the under last night in Game 1 of this series, and we're going to go that way again tonight.
Both of tonight's starting pitchers have had success against the opposing teams. Tigers starter Justin Verlander has a sparkling ERA of just 2.25 in 20 innings of work this season and actually has a pretty decent road ERA of 3.91 this season.
Oakland starter Esteban Loaiza is 11-5 career vs the Tigers with an ERA of just 2.96. He also did his best work at home this year, going 7-3 with an ERA of 3.71 in 12 starts. Both of these pitchers' respective playoff starts went under the total and both teams have outstanding bullpens.
Finally, the bats looked a little flat last night in Detroit's 5-1 win, so we are going to make a small play on the under in Game 2.
Play: Tigers-A's Under 8½ (+102)
