    About a week ago, they had a fascinating article on MLB series. The key statistic is BAA - batting average against. Since 1995, the team with the better BAA has won a each series 65.2% of the time. Pitching wins - just ask the Yankees

      Don't have the article, but:

      DET .257 2nd best
      OAK .272 8th best

      NYM .253 2nd best
      STL .268 9th best

      The WSJ does not move lines, apparently. Det was 100 earlier today and is now +108.
