Yikes...Pettite had been pitching really well lately and Bucholz while being a talented rookie is very prone to the big inning.

Your right about Pettite Texag001, he has been pitching good as of late. I'm just suprised no books or line services have got this news as of yet. Then again I just got word on this one from somebody a few minutes ago.

Its an hour to game time and CRIS still lists Pettite as the starter. After I read your post I went to the Houston Chronicle website and they have a short write up about Pettite being out. I gues the books have so much of there focus on the monday night football games?? Anyways..thanks for the heads up Dan cause I was considering the under tonight..now I have the cards and cards total over 4.

ST. LOUIS -- Andy Pettitte, who twisted his left ankle, shagging balls over the weekend, has been scratched from his start tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals.

                Taylor Buchholz will start tonight.

Manager Phil Garner said Pettitte's ankle was not necessarily the reason he was scratched.

Garner expects Pettitte to start on Tuesday night in the second game of the three-game series at Busch Stadium.

                  it's offical now guys:

                  Starting Pitcher
Name Season/vs Wins Losses Saves ERA
                  Taylor Buchholz P Season 6 9 0 5.96
                  vs. Cardinals 1 0 0 4.09

bulldog, heres the answer to your question:

In the event there is a pitching change prior to the game, the money-line will be re-adjusted and "action" wagers will be graded using the opening price for the new pitcher.

only if the player specified the pitchers didn't matter is the only way that type of action would stand as a wager.

OK, maybe it's because I'm English but did anyone else chuckle at that one?

maybe i don't understand how these lines work. how could you take advantage of that info? if you bet st louis and said carpenter had to pitch but houston was "action" wouldnt it be that your bet would stick, but it would be changed to the new st louis line, -200? and if you said both sides were action, and bet on st louis at -160, you would also still have a bet on st louis, but at -200, right? so how could you take advantage of that info?

I've heard that if you bet action at Bodog, they will not adjust your line on a pitching change. As far as I know, they are the only place that doesn't. So in theory, you could have gotten a nice scalp by making the play at Bodog before the pitching change was put up.

This is what I've heard, I'm not speaking from experience.

i know my locals don't adjust it as long as you specify you want action no matter who the pitchers in that game.
