Yankees at Royals - Sep 5th
    Scoring early and often

    By: Ross Benjamin

With Mussina making his first start off the DL for the Yankees and De La Rosa throwing BP for the Royals, the over is the play.

Mike Mussina makes his first start since Aug 20 when he was put on the DL for a strained groin. Those of you who have followed me for some time now know how I feel about pitchers making their first start off the DL. They are very seldom sharp.

Kansas City starting pitcher Jorge DeLaRosa enters the game in horrible form off his last three starts as evidenced by his astronomical 11.57 ERA he has posted in the process.

These two teams are 8-0-1 over the total in their last nine meetings. The Yankees have averaged 6.5 runs per game over their last 10. The Bronx Bombers have been a very good over value on the road this season going 41-25-1 above the total. The Royals have flown under the radar in respect to their.296 batting average as a team at home versus right-handed pitching.

    Play: Over 10½ (-115)

I only like the over because KC has been hitting the ball lately and we all know the Yankees will get their runs.

Nice to see KC hang on to the lead tonight.
