    White Sox vs. Royals
    White Sox vs. Royals

The White Sox are clinging to a half-game lead over the Twins in the wild card race. Despite owning MLB's worst record at 50-86, the Royals have been competitive with the White Sox this year, going 7-10.

Mark Buehrle is starting to come around for Chicago, going 2-1 (team is 3-1) in his last four starts, with a 2.90 ERA. He's thrown consecutive CGs in his last two outings and should be confident against a Royal team he's gone 2-0 against this year with a 2.08 ERA in four starts (Sox are 4-0!).

While Chicago is just 19-17 this year vs lefties, Odalis Perez is one lefty the Sox should get to. He's made six starts for KC since coming from the Dodgers, posting a 5.73 ERA (team is 1-5). He's made 26 overall appearances in 2006 (6.43 ERA), with his teams going 4-10 in his 14 starts.
