A take on tonight's match between Oakland and Texas.

The A's are in their 'Annual August Aura', having come up winners in 119 of their last 163 games during the 8th month of the year since 2001. To further complicate matters for the Rangers, Oakland is 22-6 in ace left hander Barry Zito's career team starts against Texas.

Look for Zito to improve to 10-5 on the road this season as it's all A's here tonight.

Texas lit up Zito last time these two teams met up and I expect more of the same tonight. I like the Rangers tonight.

I feel the same way Ill, but I dont know that much about Volquez. Im hesitant to pull the trigger...

I too was all over Oakland, I still think that line was WAY WAY too low. That guy throwing for Texas was 1-8 I think for his career and supposedly had a big blister on his thumb, he was even questionable to start at one point. Rangers had just been beaten 3 of 4 in Tampa, hard for me to see them beating Zito again, overall A's were like 21-5 when he starts against them, make it 22-5 now. To get Oakland at -109 the way they are playing this time of year was like stealing. Anyway, easy to talk after the game but I did mention it on the RX. Nice pick "SBR staff".

zito just flat out owns the rangers over his career as you said above pat. that reminds me of maddux's record against the mets over his career.
