Esteban Loaiza has put a couple of quality starts together. He's 2-0 with a 2.11 ERA in his L/3 starts, and has only given up 18 hits in 21 innings of work while striking out 16 and walking 3.
The A's have won 6 of his L/10 starts overall, and his team is 5-3 SU in the games he's pitched against Toronto in his career. The A's rally the troops in Game 3 after a loss winning in 13 of 21 times this year, while the BJ's have only gone 10-13 in Game 3 after picking up a "W" in Game 2.
I'm not exactly sure how the Blue Jays' pulled it off last night, but they showed their resolve as a baseball team and picked up a much needed victory after the fireworks that blew up in Monday Night's game. The rubber match sees the return of Gustavo Chacin for the BJ's whose been out since early June with an elbow problem. When healthy and on, his stuff mesmerized opponents a season ago. However, that was last season and I'm not so sure he'll be long for this with the A's being so red hot at the moment. He faced the A's much earlier this season when Oakland couldn't hit itself out of a paper bag, and got knocked around giving up 6 hits and 5 earned runs in only 3 innings of work.
Look for Oakland's bats to be out tonight as well. Look for the A's to rebound nicely here tonight before heading out to Texas for a huge weekend series.
