Rangers at Devil Rays - Aug 21st
    Rangers Ride Against Rays

    By: Alex Smart

Rangers, behind Adam Eaton on the mound, should handle the Devil Rays in Tampa tonight.

The Texas Rangers enter into this game on fire having won nine of their last 11 games overall and will now send a thrower to the hill in Adam Eaton that is 2-0 in his last two starts along with a 2.77 ER, allowing hitters a lowly .185 BA.

With Texas playing like a team possessed and I like them against anybody the Devil Rays will send to the hill here tonight.

Final Notes & Trends: Texas is a perfect 5-0 against Tampa Bay this season winning by an average 3.4 RPG

    Play: Rangers -130

    Look For Under In Tampa

    By: Players Advantage

Two pitchers who are in great current form and two lineups who are not familiar with these hurlers should lead to a pitchers' duel in Tampa Bay tonight.

Tampa's starter, James Shields, is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA and a .254 BAA at Tropicana Field this season. His last two home starts were against the tough lineups of the Blue Jays and the Red Sox, and he held them to a combined nine hits and three earned runs over 11.1 innings of work. He struck out 14 in those two starts.

Overall, Shields has allowed just five earned runs on 14 hits over his last 19.1 innings of work and the Rangers lineup has never seen him.

As for the Rangers' Adam Eaton, the Devil Rays have only seen him once and that was over two years ago! Tonight he comes into this start at Tampa Bay in great current form. Eaton has allowed just four earned runs and eight hits over his last 13 innings of work. It's apparent that he is getting healthier and both guys should be able to work deep into this contest.

    Play: Under 10 -135

Both pitchers have been real solid, but the Rangers offense has been clicking, so I am passing on the total and taking the Rangers.
