Today the National Sports Advisors look for Chicago and Minnesota to score under 9.5 runs tonight.
Brad Radke will try to keep rolling and move Minnesota
(71-50) into a tie for the AL wild card when they resume their series with the Chicago White Sox (72-49) on Saturday.
Radke (12-8, 4.43 ERA) looks to win a fourth consecutive start for the first time since April 30-May 16, 2003 tonight. He maintained his strong second-half pitching by holding Toronto to five hits over seven innings of a 5-0 win on Sunday.
Radke is 5-1 with a 2.80 ERA in seven outings since the All-Star break, despite pitching with a torn labrum. One of those wins came against the White Sox on July 24 in Chicago.
Radke is 8-7 with a 4.32 ERA in 17 career starts against them in Minnesota and is 2-1 with a 6.48 ERA this season against the White Sox.
Radke will matchup with another hot pitcher when Jon Garland (13-4, 4.98) looks for his ninth straight road win for the White Sox. The right-hander is 8-0 with a
3.93 ERA since losing to Minnesota on May 12.
Graland is 9-2 with a 5.89 ERA in his road starts this season. In that loss to Minnesota, he was yanked after just 5 1-3 innings and allowed seven runs on 11 hits in a 10-1 defeat.
Garland is 5-6 with a 4.34 ERA in 21 appearances, including 18 starts, against the Twins in his career.
The bottom line is both starters come into tonight's game pitching superbly in their outings over the past month. We look for both of them to keep rolling tonight with quality starts. Play the UNDER.
The bottom line is we look for this matchup to play under the total. Both pitchers have quality stuff and we look for them both to pitch well tonight.
Play the UNDER.
