    Federer due for letdown?
Hes coming off a good beat down from Nadal,is playing on his "worst" surface. I have to think the idea that he is no longer within a shout of nadal and the joker is putting distance on him for #2 is most likely in his head right now. He does have a 5-0 record vs Kolb but they have never met on clay.
I could be barking up my own ass here..But it just seems like his time has passed and he might just say fukk the clay season and concentrate on winning Wimbledon..

No letdown. He hasn't exactly been fantastic anyway.

I don't follow tennis super-closely, but when did he get a super beat down from nadal? I though Joke has been putting the beat down on them both lately?

        HTH, semis in Miami.

Nadal beat Federer easily before losing to Djokovic in a hard-fought final.

Not sure about a letdown, a transition from any surface to another is always tough for any player. Look at Kohlschreiber's opener in Monte Carlo for that - not exactly stellar against Golubev. I don't know that Kohly is the best of clay court guys to potentially KO Fed, but given Fed's transition to clay the past couple of years in his first-up tourneys ... this isn't a horrible idea.

I'll most like play the handicap for Kohly but Fed should get the job done.

second that. He should get past others fairly easily.

Don't see him losing in the first round of a Masters series event

I don't think federer going to lose tomorrow. He will win.

Fed has been starting slow in all tournaments except AO this year. Playing surprisingly tight opening matches against clowns like Schoorel or Andreev. I dont think Kohli has the guts or the game to take out Fed even in his far from stellar form, but he is definitely capable to create some drama in this match, maybe a very close 3 setter. I think Kohli on HC is the way to go...

Although clay isn't exactly Fed's favorite surface it doesn't mean he's not good at it. I think that Kohl will put up a fight but still think its gonna be fed in straight sets
