This is a silly match to bet on. This is why people lose money betting tennis. You never bet on an injured player until you can see how the injury is going to effect their game. If you bet this match, in-play would be the only way to go - otherwise it's anyone's guess.

I see Venus opened -170 at Pinnacle and bet down to a small dog.
EP is right on as always. Not a good match to put your money on at all. Taking Petkovic who isnt even a top 20 player at -120 against Venus Williams at grandslam is kinda stupid. On the other side, you dont want to put you money on possibly injured player even at mega-value price only to see him retiring after losing first set 0-6...
Staying away from this match would be the best choice imo.

Only book i know that still pays out after a retirement is pinnacle but i believe that at least 1 set has to be completed before action is valid...GL

All Aus bookies require match to be completed. Centrebet, TAB, Sportsbet, sportingbet etc etc

Sometimes it works in your favour.

Venus very well might lose, having said that if you bet her and she finds a way to win like normal you got an awesome price. If she gets further injured or can't do it, she likely will retire like anyone with a brain would aka Djokovic or Nadal and you get your money back so no harm. Low risk, high reward imo. Just bet at a book that counts a retirement as a push for backup.

Exactly. Got Venus at +1.5 (-110 pinny) as one thing is almost presumed here, that being venus will fight regardless of physical condition...GL

pinny pays after a set. lots of bookies do, so if you're taking Williams, don't go there. I booked her at +1.5 there at $1.85, which is better than the $1.83 bet365 are offering on the ML!!

I have her at 1.98 at the moment. Yeah I wouldnt go too hard on her at the moment, I took her at 2-0 sets, if shes going to win this, shes going to win it flat out. Pekotvic is a mess and late night game infront of an audience she's a choker. Venus usually plays well in Aus Open, would expect her to win this one with injury.

Think ill play on the Monfis game instead. Best of luck to every1
