I'm pretty new to betting tennis, and the line on Jankovic -140 jumped out at mean.. just wanted to see more thoughts from some of you guys/gals that are more experienced in tennis handicapping

It'll be a battle the whole way. Peng is in really good form. Jankovic doesn't have any big weapons, nor does Peng. They're both more defensive types which should mean a lot of breaks and probably a tight match. I'm on the Over 21.5 games. Side-wise, coin flip to me. Could make a case maybe for Jankovic's "experience" over Peng, but form would say Peng.Comment -
Something to look at is that Jankovic is 6-1 against her, and her only loss was against her in Bejing....which is Peng's hometown, you know Peng was just trying her hardest with crowd on her side. I see this as an easy win, to start out the very profitable dayComment -
You have to look deeper than wins and losses though on head-2-heads. Jankovic is clearly not the player she once was and a lot of these matches are from more than two years ago when both were at different points in their careers. Not saying Peng wins, but this should be competitive.Comment -
Thats True, But looking at past 2 years for Peng, the best players she beat was within 10-20 ranked and 2 of the 3 were by players retiring. Yes Jankovic has a somewhat down here in 2010 but she did beat Wozniacki and Serena and Venus. She can step up in big games, and I know she is a fighter from watching her play. I just can't see her losing in the mere 2nd rd of a grand slam event...Remember she is known to making most quarterfinals but never winning the big game. I'm expecting her to at least make 4th round. This is from Nick Bolletteri as well.
Jankovic looked like she was going to cruise in her first round match against Kudryavtseva, but she found herself in a fight in the second set. She went down a couple breaks but managed to battle back and win in straight sets. Now, she gets a tough opponent in Shuai Peng. Lucky for her, the two have faced seven times previously and she has won six of those matches.
Peng hits the ball well from both sides and doesn’t make many errors. She beat one of the flying Bondarenko sisters in the first round in three sets and that’s a good win. If Jankovic can keep herself focused and have confidence in her shots she will win this match. If Peng is able to keep her off-balance by taking the ball early I can see this going three sets. I look for Jankovic to advance in two tough sets.
