Game: Marcel Granollers vs. Kevin Anderson (Tuesday 1/4 03:30 CET)
I really rate the Spaniard as the better player, so unless public always love Anderson on hardcourts because of his huge serve, I see no reasons to see him as a favourite in here. He's an offensive-minded player and will be winning most of the points on his own serving games, however he'll barely has any chances to break his opponent. Granollers is a solid player and he's already proven he's trustworthy outside claycourts, having some good results on faster surfaces. Of course he won't have lot of opportunities to break Anderson as well, however with his a lot better baseline play and less number of unforced errors under pressure (he's a lot more consistent), I think he's got bigger chances for achieving breakpoints than giving to the opponent. Plus there's an additional game spread of 2 games, which gives HUGE value against such a big server like Anderson because tie-breaks are highly possible in here.
    Pick: 1 unit on 4020 Marcel Granollers +2 games @ 2.140

Game: Alejandro Falla vs. Rui Machado (Tuesday 1/4 14:00 CET)
I think that this one is huge mistake, unless there's something wrong with Falla's health, which shouldn't be the case because there were no information about some kind of an injury of late. Generally speaking Falla is just the better player than mediocre journeyman Machado, having bigger experience and being a constant Top100 player for some time. Portuguese is just average and he plays awfuly bad outside claycourts, so I don't know why he ain't a big underdog in here. Falla, unless most of South Americans, feel very well on fast surfaces, being more successful on hardcourts than on dirt at all. Every fan of tennis must also remember his epic game at Wimbledon against Federer, when he was serving for the match. This guy is just lot better, has got enough offensive weapons to destroy Machado, so -1.5 games spread look like a real gift. Would be definitely a 2 units play but it's just second day of 2011 season.
      Pick: 1 unit on 4129 Alejandro Falla -1.5 games @ 1.813

Game: Frank Dancevic vs. Robin Haase (Tuesday 1/4 15:00 CET)
I really don't get the odds movement in Haase favour because there's no serious difference in terms of quality between these two. In fact both have got solid potential, however has been struggling with the injuries in last season. What's more Dancevic is the better player on hardcourts and possesses bigger serve; Haase best results in 2010 year came on claycourts actually and I think that Canadian player has got better movement to the surface. I'd really set the odds quite equal because there's no serious edge for either of them; actually if I have to, I'd say that Dancevic is in slightly better spot. Getting him with addition 3 games at the spread, that's a must play for me.
        Pick: 1 unit on 4115 Frank Dancevic +3 games @ 2.080

Both Dancevic and Granollers bets cancelled (one due to retirement, second due to a push) but still a good start of the season.

Today I played Berdych -2 games @ 1.833, unfortunately now it's -2.5, though still should hit easily and is playable. BERDYCH -2 GAMES @ 1.833 is the play
