Bull crap!!! all his boys that bet with 2 set books bet him big and he told em if he is losing in the 2nd with no hope he will retire before its can be counted as a loss or vs the spread..Does anyone know if fed was serving in the final game? Because if he was serving and by all accounts 90% chance would have won 6-4 6-2 and fed covers(-5.5)..Goddam Dolgo is so dam crooked its stinks!

He definitely was a little shaken up but most likely could of let Fed ace him a few more times and finish the match

had nothing on the match but I figured that if fed was serving out at 5-2 that he would cover the spread or the o/u and that would be enough to give dolgo incentive to retire....

crazy...i think he's is probably a good player with a future but these matches are looking pretty shady.

Clearly another fix around the +5.5 games line, I had Fed 2-0 as part of a parlay - typical. ATP just doesn't want to expose the guy as they know it would rock the circuit.

Pretty hilarious that they suspended Bychkova for 30 days and fined her $5000 for failing to report an offer to fix - she turned the offer down immediately - but this is the state of tennis. Found some of this stuff when I was researching an article I was writing for another site:

Andy Murray, was quoted in 2008 saying that “everyone knows that match fixing takes place”.

Gilles Elseneer in 2007 made claims that he had been offered, and turned down, £70,000 to lose against Potito Starace in the first round of Wimbledon in 2005. Gilles would have won just £10,000 had he beaten Starace and therefore corrupt gamblers could offer him seven times his potential prize money, an offer which some players find too good to refuse.

Nikolay Davydenko who on 2 August 2007 was involved in a match which betting exchange BetFair said bore all the hallmarks of having been fixed. £7 million had been wagered on the game, the vast majority of which rested on Davydenko’s opponent, Vasello Arguello. At the time, Davydenko was ranked as the fourth best player in the world. Betfair went as far as voiding all bets on the event, despite the fact that on September 11th 2008 Davydenko was cleared of all charges. This, however was not a one off event for Davydenko; in October 2007 he was cautioned by umpires for “not trying his best” in both the St Petersburg Open and the Paris Masters. The Russian player has been associated with Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov, who in 2002 was accused by the FBI of fixing figure skating events at that years Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Tokhtakhounov has also been linked with other players such as Andrei Medvedev and Marat Safin.

World Anti Doping Agency director general David Homwan claimed at a gathering of sports ministers at the Commonwealth Games that the people orchestrating match fixing and doping in tennis are the same. "We have evidence from Interpol and from Major League Baseball that the people who are fixing betting are the people who are involved in illegal doping," he said. "The information has come from two different and unrelated sources who say the same thing." This opens the door for blackmailing players who might be outed by the very people that are supplying them with Performance Enhancing Drugs, if they don't "play ball", especially those from Eastern European countries.

In my opinion, no. If he loses this match to a guy who is 346 in the world and has only ever played 2 or 3 matches on indoor hard, then I'd think Davy would be at a serious risk of being tossed from the Tour for good.

If you have a few extra bucks in your account and just want some action, then by all means put a teeny bit on it because you never know, right? But in all honesty, your more likely than not to be pissing money down the drain.

Davy hasn't done anything dodgy since 2007 afaik - atp will have had a word with him quietly, let it be known if it happens again he's out.

They don't seem to be too bothered about R1 matches between lesser lights, but when it's top10 it gets media attention.
