He's needed to retire for a while. He's just picking up some small paychecks now

yea i'm pretty sure he will retire, might as well play his last tournaments in the US. he can't even get into any of the european or asian tournaments, unless he gets a wildcard for something like stockholm where he won the tourny twice.

I think he's already said he's taking off probably the rest of the year after the US Open. I'd expect if he does that, that he will try to play the Australian tournaments in 2011 and if he's still hurting physically and can't get it done on-court, he'll hang it up. He may just hang it up after the time off.

definitely a story of unrealized potential and slam failures

Suffers from Pea-Heart-Syndrome which is common among American tennis players.

Just too old for his style, unfortunately. Agassi managed it, but not without a bit of chemical help.

I would be surprised to see him in 2012... I think he will keep trying next year and then retire.

Should have a long time ago. Plus he is hampered by that injury, smashed his head.

There comes a point in a players career when they have to ask themselves if it is worth the embarrassment of continual losses in hopes of collecting small paychecks here and there. James Blake has been horrible for over 2 years now and he should retire asap because it is hard to watch him now.

No need for him to retire - often get good odds on his opponent
