berdych almost always plays federer tough...he pulled off the shocker in the 2004 olympics when federer was seemingly unbeaten...berdych has gotten better since then...so not that much of a shock here

Don't think it's just an excuse for him either. He rarely complains about injuries, etc. Still a poor performance, but perhaps he would have at least gone 5 if his back was a bit better. Still woulda lost I think.

That is a good site for men's tennis. They don't do hardly anything WTA related, but for the men it's pretty solid because it offers some opinions on matches, etc.

there was definitely reason to question it because they've both been struggling this Wimbledon, unlike the past (of course last year Nadal wasn't in Wimbledon, but aside from that).

Nadal seems to have rebounded, while Federer did not.
