    Rotterdam: Soderling vs. Davydenko
    Davydenko -180
    Soderling +150

Interesting match tomorrow. Soderling matches up pretty well with the Russian having beaten him twice in three tries late last year plus he was whipping his ass before Davydenko quit at the US Open. Soderling looked like the breakout guy he became following the French Open in his match yesterday by murdering Benneteau. Daydenko has killed all three of his opponents. OVER seems the most solid as they have only played one two set match in 7 best of three scenarios. No # of games set, but I would think it'll probably be 23 at higher juice or 23.5 at -110 to -115. Definitely side with the plus money of Soderling at the moment as he seems to be healthy right now. I know Davydenko is rolling fools, but this is not a great scenario for him.

    Whatcha got?

took Denko. too quick, takes it too early. I love Soderling as underdog but if he can get to that first serve or second often enough, Davydenko can get some payback.

I would only look at recent head to head (2009). I would toss the retirement for purposes of the head to head, so that you only have head-to-head real matches. That yields a 2-2 record between the two. Much more important for me is recent performance, and not just the last match they each played.

Soderling has lost to Ginepri and Granollers. Davy has beaten Verdasco, Fed and stole a set from Nadal. Look at the YTD stats going into Rotterdam. 1st serve - 68% Davy, 61% Soderling, Service Games Won 82% Davy, 71% Sodes.... I don't need to list them but every single stat is in Davy's favor year to date.

Transition to Rotterdam. I will give you the Benneteau dismantling, it was impressive and evokes some confidence in the Swede but any top ten player should be able to hurt a 40 ranked player like that, and Davy hasn't exactly been struggling to this point. In fact Davy's handling of Marcros (who I think I give more credence than you do as well so it makes sense we split even more here) gives me more confidence than Sodes over Benneteau.

Sure I wish I got the line as I original saw it out of Stanjames (Davy -149) but I will take him at -178 as I got him at 5Dimes. These two might split any given meeting making it profitable to bet on the dog. However, the YTD stats clearly show that Davydenko is up to speed while Sodes is still warming up. The win over Benneteau isn't enough to show me that Sodes is cranking either.. I'll stick to the featherweight Ruski.

these odds are weird given that davy has a no.6 ranking and soderling is no.8

this should've been even odds, if you factor in that soderling has an advantage in their head to head encounters maybe soderling should've been a slight favorite

they are both healthy as well, and playing good tennis, the odds wouldnt even make sense if soderling was not 100% health or out of shape

davy is at -227 at bet365, went down quite a bit wonder whats going on

i wouldn't take the 2 losses that soderling has this year too highly...they were both in hot weather places...a type of environment he loathes

Well that didnt go well. Soderling dominated Davy on Sode's serve. Davy had a couple key double faults. C'est la vie, one match out of many. Good pick Soderling backers.

Keep your eyes on Davydenko in the next tournament to see if there is an injury issue/how his mental state goes. He sounded a bit like the "old" Davydenko leading up and into this match. I know he hates the spotlight and is a bit of a "woe is me" guy, but he was not positive at all heading into today. Hate to see anyone get burned by him at high chalk in the next couple weeks if he's taking a downturn.
