The Tennis Channel has introduced a few different scoring options for Slams now ie say you pick a seeded player to win, your normal point score for winning that match is either added or multiplied by that seed. In the earlier rounds I think that's a bit random although it still does favour the lower seeds but they do give you the option of what rounds you want to add that in. So say someone who picked a 25 seed to win in round 4 gets their 5 points for the match + or x 25 for that seed making it through.
Give this a thought guys for the US Open. I don't mind either way... just figured I'd put it out there as it's now available for any of you who may want to shake it up and/or get rewarded for picking those sneaky ones. Like I did at the French with Ash Barty, yeah? (just reminding you I'm not always this craphouse!)

I'd be down to try something new, fun no matter what!
One thing I personally would recommend though is to make the gap between how much picks count for between the first round and final to be not so big - makes the early rounds too inconsequential imo. I mean in this contest I wound up tieing for 1st while if Federer and won in the Final I would not have even finished Top 10! And I think the Finals having that big an impact on the standings is too much. Like say 1 point for first round, 2 points for second, 3 points for third, then say going up by two points each additional round 1/2/3/5/7/9/11 or whatever. That I think would make it much more balanced.
Just my suggestion, probably tennis channel can't even do that! But I think that would make for a better experience overall (I would do same in March Madness for instance!). Even though that worked in my favor this time, I like the idea of better overall picking (even in the first round) resulting in higher scores rather than the hugely high variance of picking the winner correctly vs not.
But anyway, thanks much for the contests, they are great fun whatever the format! Have really revitalized some of my old interest in tennis, sure is a bit more fun to follow when rooting for your bracket to do well!Comment -
i liked the nccam bracket with the difference in seeds gave the extra points. seems kinda dumb that you get over 60 points in the first round for picking a coinflip of two 60+ seeds playing eachother.Comment -
