    Nishikori
One wasn't expecting him to beat Nadal but isn't he good enough to at least be winning more than a game per set against Nadal?

Nishikori has played 8 hours of tennis over his last two matches... hes had to come back down a break in both those matches in the 5 set.... running on fumes would imply optimism

Nishi seems to fade faster in these grand slams more than other top players. Not surprised at all. He struggled against paire who wasn’t even playing that well

Yeah he doesn’t have that killler mentality to put people away.

Nishikori's body is not strong enough to play 5 sets in a few days back to back. Guy seems like he needs to eat some steaks instead of sushi all the time.

If you watched the match you would know that he was suffering from some sort of arm/elbow injury and was visited by the trainer twice. Not that it would have mattered but he was clearly not 100%

A big part of the game is free points on serve and nishikori just doesn’t have that component. At least on other surfaces he will start ahead on points. But on clay, he is putting in a lot of work every point and that equates to fatigue. But that goes to show you how good he is defensively to be towards the top without a big serve.
