Rainy conditions until the end of the week
I think it can affect Nadal quite a lot, he hates it (remember the match against Schwartzman last year).
Djokovic on the other hand adapts well. Federer also will be bothered, if only Wawrinka had a bit more rest, he could benefit from these conditions.

Why do you say Nadal will be bothered? Will it dampen the height of his top spin? And why will Fed be bothered? Thx.

Exactly. His forehand becomes easier to control.
About Federer, he likes quick conditions, rainy weather makes the play slower, not good for him.
I think guys like Wawrinka and Khachanov won't be affected, they play powerful tennis. Just afraid about Wawrinka's fitness, but Khachanov can be a good dark horse here.

Any opinion on how women's bracket could be affected by less-than-stellar conditions?

Not sure, to be honest I don't follow the women tour much, Keys is very hard to predict too.

Damp heavy conditions favor nadal all day. ... and djokovic second. Both wawrinka and Fed suffer in the Rain.

In a match up between Nadal and Novak, in those conditions Rafa is done IMO, remember the final of 2012, he lost like 6 games in a row before the umpire stopped the play.

Yeah bud i agree... i dont think the conditions will matter to much right now. I think Nadal is hurting, hes had lucky matchups so far. If Djokovic shows up relatively rested a max wager will be required most likely @ + odds

Most likely? Djokovic will be at least +170

And I also though Federer would be +400 vs Nadal lol

I would say between +175 and +190, but of course depends how both look in the semis.

Actually yeah, these damp conditions Fed virtually has no shot vs Nadal. He will need a Nadal back strain at best. I think Khachanov is toast in this weather as well.

Doesn't cool and rain reduce bounce and make clay court faster

No ball skips off a dry court. A wet clay acts more muddy. Also moisture acts as negative force while the ball is travling through the air.

This is why Nadal has owned these clay courts over the years. Tournament schedulers put him in all the late night matches where its damp and hard to hit through the ball. Like poisec mentioned the only guy he probably dosn’t have an advantage over is Djokovic

Keys is wild. Goes for broke and mentally can lose 6-0 6-0. Or bagel someone and then drop the next set in 20 minutes. Any idea of Halep keeps it close with Anisimova?

Heavy conditions Halep should destroy Anisimova. Anisimova dropped her opponents on fast paced courts

Im might try Keys. Barty likes to run around the ball alot, she wont have time IF keys is hammering winners. I think its 50/50

Similarly, Zverev should have zero chance against Novak, right?
