Havent played for a long time, probably got caught for the match fix against Monteiro and paid some money under the table as they do with all high profile/most players to keep the sport clean. Another ukranian player Bondarenko made a match fix at the same time as Dolgopolov and she havent been playing since at the same as Dolgopolov. Both players banned atm, but will surely return sooner or later as the good players never get more than a few years for fixing. A lot of other player have been and gets banned under the radar without any public information on the subject, but in a case with Dolgopolov and Bondorenko it's pretty clear they both got banned for their obvious fix back in 2017.

I remember that monteiro match clearly as well. It seems like the sport has been cleaned up a bit over the past 2 years. Guys are getting scared because they made an example out of Kicker.

Sad part is i kinda felt for Kicker. The guy was just trying to pay back the debt he borrow from his parents.

Yet Tomic is still throwing matches hehe

But not surprising regarding dolgopolov. Guy has been dodgy for ages

I’m guessing this is a silent suspension?

Technically he had wrist surgery last summer, the same surgery Delpotro has had... nothing about match fixing yet. However Bonderenko can go to hell.

Tomic is fine because theres no money transfered on his matches. Guy just dosnt GAF.

I can understand Potro having wrist surgery. He’s had it before and when you consider his size and the way he plays with his power, and the way he hits the ball flat it’s not surprising it results in a strain of his wrists.

Just like criminals, it's only really the "stupid" who get caught, or those make it too obvious. For those who know how to not make it too obvious (fixing matches privately - instead of selling information to random gambling connection) it's obviously almost if not completely impossible to prove, but for the unlucky not so wise people who kind of sell themself to random gambling connections, who could care less if the players gets in the hot seat, will just throw huge amounts of money on the match, making it way more obvious even for the public eye, with huge swings in odds, and also the different in skill on how good to disquise your loss. Some people are better are losing on purpose than others, and also can be a huge huge factor, when if they get caught, if there is video proof of the match showing weird behavior from the player, which there where in both Kickers and Dolgopolov incident. And another huge factor in how and if a player gets caught is simple private investigators. The TIU doesnt really do much job themself, and in cases with Dolgopolov and Kicker it was not the TIU who made the investigation themself, it was public and private tennis writers and betting market writers who wrote and made it known to the public and TIU by putting a light on the shady things going on with some matches and reported it to the TIU, so they had to look into it, which have resulted in the bans we see. Kicker got banned after a lot of people questioned his match, which can also be found on youtube, with him fixing a match, and the same goes for Bondarenko and Dolgopolov which also had numerous reports on their weird fix in 2017 written and talked all about, and after some months, where the TIU was probably investigating the matter themself, they both stop playing. The players who get public named for match fixing is only a shadow of how many who is actually caught or under heavily suspect for match fixing. Which can be understanded as it would totally ruin the reputation of the tennis sport, if it came out that almost 50% of all players, or god knows how many who have sold a match once or more times during their career, to be able to continue to compete is such a low paid for anyone outside of top 100 really, and very money requiring sport, with paying flights, hotels, team etc. It's very money consuming, and perhaps the easiest sports for a player to fix an outcome on.

exactly trip those are some stupid people greed always gets the best of them they think they can just gamble those huge amounts and get away with it guess it has to work sometimes for them to try it though. so easy to just gamble yourself as a tennis player no need to try to break the bank I suspect some do I see many tanked matches whether that player has bet on the match or not who knows seems tiu is only concerned about huge money being involved for the individual bettor whether or not the book shows discrepancies its bad for us when a player has no intentions of winning the match it amounts to the same thing but theyll never go that far to punish players not trying to win its not exactly subjective a lot of times, there are times its pretty obvious

Why don't fixers just lose in a tiebreak to make it less obvious.

The best way to fix a match imo is to just tank a Set.
