Checking on Betfair now, De Minaur is @ 1.06 to win the match. That's incredibly low odds, even think there is some value on Laaksonen to win @ 15.

Watched all of De Minaur's matches in Australia, guy has looked sharp. Could have made excuses in Sydney and then backing it up in 2 days in Melbourne but he didnt drop a set in all of that. (As well as all the rain delays in Sydney)
I expect him to win in 3 sets (I know the match just started) in all honesty

If he was overvalued against a more seasoned player i'd think differently but he's playing scrubs who suck at the slams

I am actually very impressed by this kid, also looks like a "reliable" guy to place a bet on.

Yeah he wasn't even that bad in the Tsonga loss, got outmuscled by the experienced player and I imagine against those 'power guys' (Nadal next) he will lose matches until he bulks up a bit.
In the meantime the best he can do is hope to put pressure on their serve games and second serve, try more net play and shorten the rallies if he's getting out hit.

Guy is a determined kid for sure, played and grew up in Spain so played tonnes of clay growing up, which is different to most Australian players

But he's not like Kyrgios/Tomic where he can lose just as easily in the 1R

I think fatigue could kick in for de minaur if laaksonen doesnt roll over and keeps grinding.

It's like he's established player who has couple of slam titles and always runs deep in slams. Ridic odds imo.

It isn't a reputation thing though, his form has warranted favouritism here at the AO, especially against the scrubier guys. Like the guys he just played (playing now).

If he hadn't had good form in Brisbane/Sydney like early exits, I'd have understood but...

Agree nice judgement of where the value is guys. Sprinked some on the ml Laaksonen @+2000 after the first set. Unfortunately Laaksonen just got broken.

De Minaur was lucky vs Sousa. Damn now he is all of the sudden playing like a -1650 favorite.

Of course De Minaur is supposed to win this. Just thought perhaps Laaksonen had a 9% or 10% chance to pull the upset.

                          People don't understand the value.

This would a good example of some value:
