they have lost far too many matches even as heavy favorites not to mention their tendency to blow a lead seemingly out of nowhere

Well for starters, Anderson is the one that's older than Mayer so the logic goes out the window. Baggy is a horror matchup for Goffin and makes it even worse being on grass plus the line makes him way too heavy of a favourite.

Also to the above, Cilic has won 80% of his matches as the favourite in the last two years which is right up there with the best and Safarova is at 72% which is about the average.
