    ATP Doubles Today
    playing

    R.Bopanna/A.Qureshi -110
    vs Sock/Posp

What was wrong with Sock yesterday?? Looked sick. Posp just played a long match and he might think he has a shot at Roger tomorrow. If this match happens I think Bop and Qureshi end their run. They are a solid team and should be motivated for this tourney.

    R.Lindstedt/M.Matkowski +120
    vs Peers/Murray

This one could go either way, but I'll take the more distinguished doubles players as dogs any day.

also like Huey/Inglot at -150 but don't like the price, and I think Monfils/Kohl winning at +150 wouldn't be that surprising but you never know with Monfils.

    what do we think

I guess sock is all better. Such a drama queen, but Posp and Sock are a legit team when both healthy. Wouldn't be too surprised if they beat Stepanek and Paes.

Nice to see you step out of the shadows and post some picks.

Doubles are hard as shit to predict in the 2 sets + TB format.

there's a difference between a typo, or in this case a missed word, and not knowing simple grammar

the fact that you just tried to correct me, with thoughts in mind of me correcting Matt, shows that you're about as smart as he is.

          no offense matt

Been a pretty wide open year for doubles. Even though the Bryans are still ranked #1, they have been a bit poor lately. Honestly, a lot of these tournaments it's the team that gets hot. So it pays to wait a round or so to make plays unless there is a big mismatch that you can exploit either in a parlay or just a bad price. If you look at dubs, especially since May - there have not been a lot of teams wining multiple tournaments.

Seems like it has gone in waves. Nestor-Zimonjic were hot early in the year, but have been pretty average for a few months. Peya-Soares still seem to be one of the most consistent teams. Rojer-Tecau are a little under rated I think.

I think Dodig-Melo could do a little damage before hard courts end if they stick together through the USO. Paes-Stepanek don't appear to have any magic left in them after a year or so of pretty good dubs play.

Benneteau-ERV could be a team to watch for the USO. Been pretty solid for most of the year.

I disagree EP. I bet doubles (small) a lot and have most of my success in the early rounds. I usually only play dogs or small favorites. I rarely ever play doubles chalk. I love betting on the guys that aren't in the singles draw, it makes me feel as if they have more motivation. It gets harder late in the draw for doubles IMO

To each his own. It's a little easier with the Masters Events because guys aren't swapping partners has much as they do for the 500s and especially the 250s. I think you see the "regular" teams pretty much for Masters & Slams although guys who enjoy dubs and might not have a partner will find someone to play with.

For me, I think I tend to follow certain teams on certain surfaces and also look for a team that might get hot. Dodig-Melo were a prime example in Toronto. They had not teamed up since the Spring until they came back together in DC. They didn't look all that great, but I think were getting used to each other again. They got hot in Toronto and scored some nice wins. In DC, it was Groth-Paes who got hot.

I don't have a problem using chalk in dubs. There's quite a few reliable teams that aren't necessarily outrageously priced that you can use in parlays. I think outside of the Bryans, books don't over value doubles nearly as much as they do with the top dogs in singles. I treat them like I treat high priced favorites. I don't over due it on parlays, but there are useful prices.
