WTA Dementieva & Williams - Why not? Other thoughts as well
Talk me outta playing both these qtr favs, please.

    Why will either lose?

    Thanks

PS...I like Roger and Serena to win the title (s). Not over-looking a solid Nadal, but Federer has all the confidence and obvious talent now, IMO. Federer wants that 14 real bad, too.

FREE of the top seeding, Roger Federer says he's feeling more relaxed than ever as he closes in on Pete Sampras' all-time grand slam record.
The comeback vs. Berdych was Most impressive in this setting. Federer showed how great a shape he is in, physical and mental in that match.

Dementieva should win as she's got the experience at least in the lead-up to Grand Slam finals where she chokes a lot. Navarro probably will find the moment too big as a lot of the inexperienced players do. Price is horrid though for a single play at -400 or more. Would use it in a parlay definitely, but not by itself. Just my personal style there.

I wouldn't touch the Serena Williams match with someone else's bank roll UNLESS they are playing with the roof shut. Then I would pound Serena at the current price. She matches up well with Kuznetsova. Only worry is the heat.

Thanks for the feedback, Eaglesphan36. You think conditioning is the factor with Serena?

It would appear to be. I've only seen parts of a few of her singles matches in Melbourne & the Azarenka one she moved okay. Maybe she was just "off" for the day. But, her lead-up to this tourney also was riddled with some question marks as to that. She had two matches in Sydney that went 3 sets & Dementieva dismantled her in straights, 6-3, 6-1. Plus she's been playing doubles the whole time - which either hurts or hinders things - most say it helps to be able to hit on the off-day in a real match situation. But it can still wear you down too. I think in a cooler environment, fatigue wouldn't be as big a worry. Her serve can get her out of a lot of jams if it's on & it's much bigger than Kuznetsova's. Serena is still the better pick here - don't get me wrong, I just think it's a much better prop if the roof is closed and heat isn't a factor.

I am struggling to lay the prices on either of the women at these prices. I have to remind myself sometimes that I do not like to lay that kind of price on anything.

Yeah. My advice on anything over -200 is to parlay it into a play. You limit your losses that way & if you believe they both have a great shot to win, then you cash nicely.

I do like Dementieva to go on and win this thing.

And as for the other discussion- It's situational, but I'm generally in favor of playing straight as opposed to parlaying in tennis. Some American shops won't even let you parlay, and others that do can limit you pretty quickly.

It's good to try to keep books off your trail if you're an American and like to bet tennis, the limits aren't very big to begin with.

Passing on everything and of course the thoughts win. Winning is so easy when you don't put money down. I'll just root on Federer. Sure as the world turns, If I put my $ down he will lose.

                        Enjoy everyone.
