Australian Open - Gael Monfils Future
Folks I found a Gael Monfils future at +12500 and took it. Wanted to know if you all think there is any value here. Note: I am looking for a round of 32 or round of 16 hedge out opportunity here, not for Monfils to actually win the open.

Mid summer last year Monfils got a "life coach" in an attempt to get more serious about his life and tennis. He performed well in the US Open and seems to be continuing the upward trend defeating a healthy Rafa at Doha (albiet on what is arguably Rafa's weakest surface).

    Thoughts?

I dont understand this question, but if you asking if Monfils will do good at Australian Open I think he can make it to the QF.
I see Monflis as so much talent waiting to burst but it depends too much on who he plays against.
He is a roller coaster player thats what i call them one day they are great and the other day they are shit but if he can keep his cool on the shitty days then i can see him doing just fine.

I'm not picking futures until the draw comes out. Value wise, that's a good # - but if he's stuck in a tough draw, the value dies.

He's had some really good results recently, but it totally depends on his draw. He's got no chance against someone like Simon or Murray, who will just feed him nothing, slice repeatedly, frustrate him. On the other hand, he thumped Nadal recently, and could really trouble Federer (see their Roland Garros match).

Other than the top 4, then Tsonga at +2000ish, Monfils looks the best long odds possibility. Del Potro, Gulbis and Cilic are too raw, Nalbandian is unfit, Davydenko is injured, Roddick has no idea how to beat the top5. Doesn't leave many other possibles. I'm also looking at Gilles Simon though......

He's got no chance at winning unless a good draw combined with an array of top pros being eliminated before him occurs, as HeeHAWWWWW touched on. But, if you're looking for some value and he happens to make it past a few rounds you'd have a chance to be able to buy back your bet and secure some profit.
