    Unfair Intertops Rule
This happened two nights ago. I played the Bluejays versus the Yankees moneyline at +220. I was looking for value in the play. Intertops does not give you the option of selecting "Listed" versus "Action". I placed the wager at 5:06 pm. The game started at 7:05 pm. I get the following email at 7:55 pm.

    Dear Customer,

We wish to notify you, that due to a pitching change and the odds were still available online, with the incorrect pitcher; your wager on TOR (R Romero) v NYY (D Phelps) had to be refunded.

The correct match TOR (H Alvarez) v NYY (D Phelps) is now available on the website for your convenience.

Our deepest apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Please see below the rules in regards to this matter.

    Rule:

    4.4. Games are official after:

    a) All Baseball bets on the Money Line, Run Line, Total Runs and Proposition Bet Offers at Intertops are accepted as 'Listed Pitchers' only, unless otherwise stipulated. If both starting pitchers are not exactly as specified at the time of the bet, all wagers will be deemed no action and are refunded. Each team's starting pitcher is defined for wagering purposes as the pitcher that throws the initial pitch.

    Sincerely,

    (name withheld)

I got the e-mail in the Top of the 3rd inning when the game was still tied at 1. I quickly logged into Intertops to see if I could still get action on the Blue Jays per what the email stated. Of course the line was not listed anywhere. I chatted with a rep who stated the game already started so the line was obviously taken down. I quoted the email and rep stated that was just a standard generic email. I asked why the email was sent an hour after the game was started and the rep could not provide an answer.

The Blue Jays won in extras 8-7. I contacted Intertops and was told "the rules are the rules" and I have no recourse. I understand they are covering themselves with that rule. I just think it was unfair how they sent the email close to an hour after the game started.

Does it matter? Not like they are taking a shot at you and were going to attempt to keep the stake should it have lost, everyone is very clear that pitchers must start and knows bets will be void if they change.

Agree with muffins. It would seem the email notice you received was a formality. You didnt have action once they changed pitchers and no funds were risked.

Sorry to hear about your bet. Tough break learning about it when your team is looking good. Maybe switchin to a book that lets you choose action is a good move.

It was tough luck, but the rule on listed pitcher is same on all books. So to call it "Unfair" is a bit unfair. The only issue is the email timing, but most books don't even send email for pitcher change since it is so common.
