If the site sucks, has low volume, high rake, slow software then no one will play there anyway.

Just cause something is "legal" does not mean it will be legit.

i live in la and have access to 4 different card rooms in less than an hour distance but i prefer to play online also. fish like jj don't realize how boring it is to play 20 hands per hour when you can play 200 hands per hour online. of course, most fish prefer live because they lose at a slower rate. also, i hate sitting next to people that haven't showered in days or beligerant drunks that spit all over the table while they scream out loud about nothing...

This is going to be a key in the whole process. They can't rake it like a normal table and start pulling for bad beat jackpots and maybe a tax on top of it. No one will play.

no matter how high the rake, people will play. just look at state lotteries. the rake is over 50% and people can't get enough. the thing is with online poker, everyone wants a piece. i hate to be pessimistic but there are too many greedy bastards that are making the rules and running the show. it'll never be like pokerstars or fultilt rake days with rakeback to make it profitable.
