    Online Blackjack and Basic Strategy
What is some of your opinions on playing online Blackjack.

After playing millions of hands for seemingly for ever, I have made some observations, that may not jive with logic but I throw them out anyway.

Why does it seem that dealers have an easier time not busting on small numbers. ie, a 12 for a dealer is a lethal hand, they have all sorts of ways to get close to 21 without busting. But when the player hits on 12, they bust far more.

I cant even count the amount of times a dealer with 16 gets 18 or 19 by hitting, which is almost an automatic bust for the player. It just seems, that the player busting first is not the only advantage the dealer has, they also dont bust as often as we do when they do have to hit.

To me that has been the biggest difference, if the dealer doesnt bust on the small numbers, you have no chance.

This onservation may be dismissed as bs, but it seems very real to me. Land based casinos are bad, but not THAT bad.

as far as basic strategy, can that really aplly to online blackjack. It's not a real deck, it's simulated, your playing basic strategy based on probablities of cards being dealt, but since the cards are generated by computer, there is no real deck to speak of.

Not sure basic strategy works the same.

If you HAVE to play in an online casino, here are the things to consider:

There is really no reason for them to cheat. Think of how much money casinos make. Now think of not having to pay for employees, utility bills, land, buildings, etc. It is a cash machine. They might be cheating, but they have no reason to. You also feel like you are getting more bad beats because you are playing far more hands in the same amount of time it would take in a brick and mortar.

BS is not based on how many decks, or what cards are currently in the decks. The cards are automatically shuffled every hand, so BS should work the exact same way as it would in a regular casino. There are some indices when using AP such as standing on 16 when the count gets to a certain + level, but since AP is impossible in a non-live online casino, basic strategy would work fine

If it's from a reputable software provider, online BJ plays and pays out just the same as real world casino in the long run. BJ is still a losing proposition unless you get a bonus though and it's hard to find +EV casino bonuses nowdays. Especially ones that allows BJ or other low variance table games.

If you must play online, play only live dealer games.

All other software has the ability to cheat you (and I genuinely believe that most if not all do not deal a fair game)

I dunno dude, online poker is one thing, where at least hopefully you're playing against other heads and not employees of the company with access to the hands and the cards or cheaters or whatever.

But blackjack? Damn, I'd be surprised if it WASN"T programmed to win

Black Jack has house edge and many players make mistakes. Everyone is not playing basic strategy.

I have played hundreds of thousands of hands of black jack in lots of online casinos in my time. Return percentages have been fair, as expected. Many software providers use pretty sophisticated RNG. Many with real physical RNG utilizing chaotic quantum physical events like radioactive decay.

I'm sure it would be easier to rig an online casino with LIVE dealers just by altering the cards on the deck. With the big online casino software providers, all the RNG data comes from the servers of the software provider. Individual casinos have no way of tampering with it. They might be able to adjust payout % on slots and video poker paylines slightly, but not alter the randomness of the games.

Haven't played much the past few years. Bonus terms used to be much better some 5-10+ years ago. Now, it's very rare to get 100% Black Jack or Video Poker bonuses with reasonable rollover requirements. Those used to be common. Most bonuses are close to break even now and often only slots count for rollover purposes. Some places will even void all wins if any black jack is played with a bonus.

www.wizardofodds.com is a great site for casino software comparison, house edges, basic strategy cards etc.

                        To the rest yall.

I dont believe any place "cheats" their customers. They dont need to, they already have the edge.

But I do think the software is not the same as a land casino, Ive seen dealers get 5 or 6 blackjacks in a row on some of these, I think ive seen three in a row a coule of times, in 20 years on land.

Dealer seems to start with aces and 10's the majority of times as well.

Just a question of accuracy. Thed edge with basic strat is almost neglible if the game is played right, but it sure doesnt seem that way online.

I dont think anybody is sitting there messing with the cards, would take too long and wouldnt mean enough for them to do it. But the game itself is off.
