Noted problems happening over there. Were talking real money, not play money so you'd assume a closer look is being taken with Bet Islands from most. Do you trust them, feel comfortable with them?
This is a fair question. Do you trust Bet Islands?

#3I absolutely trust them 100%. Tech problems don't translate into a bad book. A fully functional site with crap customer service and issues paying out is a 1,000x worse than the inconvenient site issues they've had lately. At least it's just inconvenient and nothing more.Comment -

#4Ill wait a year to make a deposit there again. Want to make sure things are running smoothly there before I let them hold my cash. Too many other reliable books out there to take a chance.Comment -

#5Do not play at BI , but will say if something went wrong at the books I use I would post up at BI. The fact that Jon addresses questions here on a regular basis shows he cares about his customers.Comment -

#6I trust them, but I wouldn't deposit with them now. Just wait until they got all these bugs taken care of. Everything should be resolved by the end of this week.Comment -

#7Here is my answer
I DON'T TRUST ANY SITE IN A 4TH WORLD RAT HOLE
but that being said i have some big balances in both CR and Curacao
The owners may be the most straight up guys on the planet but that don't mean chit if the local authorities get a bug up their azz and means even less if the US state department does
and that doesn't even count the scum bags running around Escazu
think about how many outright thefts have occurred
Just keep that all in mind when you send money across the globe to countries where in the best neighborhood they can't even get the sewers to work on a regular basisComment -

#12Trust.... I trust them as much as any offshore.
Confidence..... took a little hit the last couple weeks. They really need to stablize their offerings. Their IT/DoS attacks are a lesson for any public facing website that is avoidable if they have the right network protection equipment in place. Sounds like they do now.
The thing that everyone needs to remember here is that Jon has been and continues to be upfront and honest, publicly available, even when some posters here continue to throw tomatoes at him, unjustifyably. It would have been easy for him to go into hiding in the server room until the issues were resolved, but instead, constant updates were provided. That is top-notch. Plus he offered some free play compensation for the inconvience.
Remember that this should not be your only out anyway. You should be posted up at several books if you are playing this seriously. most of the assholes on here who yell and scream about the downtime don't have $100 to their name, and are constantly looking for a handout. You know who you are.Comment -

#15BetIslands should be trusted: They worked through the DOS attack, compensating players for the minor inconvenience. No problems with my free payouts, 5k per month for the last three months with no issues. BI will continue to be my 1st of 5 outs, with their competetive dime lines & top notch customer service. Thanks Jon, keep up the good work.Comment -

#17I def do trust them as I have had no issues. Although was told I would get some sort of compensation when BI moved (major downtown) and never received it. Also was told with this lastest Dos event I was also told it would be "made up to me" I left my money there thinking I would be compensated and haven't been. I also contacted jon and gave him my user ID and still nothing. But as far as a books concerned I think they are reliable and you cant beat same day payouts.Comment -

#18I do trust them fully. I'm curious of thier history however, they boast on the website paying players since 2004, I never heard of them til around a year ago when til forum has went nuts in response to the sameday payouts, I did find that claim(true i'm sure) but what was this sportsbooks name??Comment -

No one can answer based on anything but a small amount of anecdotal evidence, and very strong wishful thinking.
I like the book, I play at the book, and I recommend them.
The word 'trust' however, is not applicable. What would I base my trust on? Friendly people? Quick payouts? Reduced Juice?
The question to ask should speak more to the mutual benifit of a book to stay in business. But the truth we all know but don't like to think about is that ANY of these offshore books could pull up thier tent stakes and vanish into the wind.
We are all in a big gamble by sending our money to people we've never met, and who are operating just outside the peripheral of the law.
Everything is always fine until it's not, and the best we can do on our end is to reduce the chance of ruin, as it's elimination is simply impossible.

#23Never posted up at BI, But I guess a lot of Players got fooled by JON and his accessibility on this forum. I thought they were good business people running a legit business. But the race book limits and lack of betting options concerned me. Looks like they were conducting a shell game.Comment -
