          Thank you sir.

FWIW: In case the current mirror sites aren't working for everyone, they have asked me to pass along to everyone that if you call them and provide your account number they will provide you with a temp mirror site they will just have available for today.

Problem there is the DDos probably brings in so much income that any job wouldn't match it. Apparently a large number of ddos victims just pay up, because it costs so much to be offline.

Seems Sky is always under these kinds of attacks.

                  I have a theory--mind you its just a theory.

Maybe this is being done by some angry canadians who just can't seem to get through to Skybook that they should offer Moneybookers??!!

Now on the oft chance my theory is correct--Skybook should just go ahead and add it just in case.

That's not a really good theory.

I guess so. I still advocate getting a real job over making this kind of living just on principle, but I understand what you're saying.

I have wondered about how it works and how effective it is. I don't know where to get that kind of information. I also don't know what exactly it takes to fight these attacks. I know some books have successfully stood up to them.

If a sportsbook paid the extortion money, wouldn't they just be painting an EASY TARGET sign on themselves and inviting more attacks? It seems like they would be making victims of themselves forever. I don't doubt the extortionists promise to leave them alone if they pay but how much would their word be worth? How many different groups are doing this stuff.

                      I don't know.

Good money in DoS attacks. Asian casino-only sites are the most vulnerable of them.

I just tried Skybook.com and it is down. Is this still from the same ddos situation or just some new temporary thing?

well....I havent been able to access any of the mirror sites all day

it has to do with my ip range im assuming because like I stated before behind a proxy I can access the www2 mirror no problem

and other people said they can access the www2 as well...I tried everything to get a different ip...even called comcast...cant change it...not even the range

I called skybook and asked them if I could use the proxy website to access them and they said keep trying through my isp ip as they dont want me to use the proxy...they even took a few bets of mine over the phone tonight

anyhow...ill try again tomorrow...they said they arent near 100% yet when I called in...if it helps my ip range is 24.10.10.100 comcast

anyone else still not able to access the mirror site?...and if so...what is your ip range???

                                                      man TRUST ME

im somewhat savvy when it comes to computers

                                                      cleared cache...temp files...cookies

                                                      you name it

even tried to spoof the mac address of my network card AND my PC so when I powered down the modem it would request and new ip

but it seems comcast has me locked on a dynamic ip and NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can make it change

Ive tried everything....and as Ive stated...I can access the site through a proxy...the only way I can change my ip

seems like someone succeeded in what they set out to do....because whoever is in my ip range...is being censored from the site

                                                          well

                                                          I called in

and the cs rep said it was OK to access the site from a different ip (proxy) other than mine

I didnt think they gave permission for people to do that
