    Betsson acquires Nordic Gaming Group
    Bookmakers' consolidation is continuing.
Recently Unibet swallows 24bet, and today Betsson expanding.

Perhaps EU will only have 5-10 bookies within 5 years.

Doubt it. Just look at all huge books like Will Hill, Ladbrokes etc...

The mystery is why they are paying 65 million euros.

              Bet24 was worth 13 million?

Aren't they just paying to buy the same customers that they already have?

It must be the poker players that they are after, as the sports division must be worthless, on Bettson for instance I was just allowed £3 at 3.50 on the Grand Prix - deadbeats that they are.

Betsson and Unibet are both listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and there is pressure on these companies from stockholders to grow through acquisitions, the earnings multiples indicate this although gambling companies are considered defensive (low beta) in its nature and yielding 4 % each approx. in dividends.

I found this strange when I heard it - Betsson, after 1 bet, had me limited to very small bets whereas I've had lots of bets at Nordicbet and never been restricted despite winning a bit off them.
I was under the impression that Nordicbet were a much bigger book than Betsson.
Bet24 seemed a bit of a joke to me - they previously sponsored football teams in the UK but appeared to have little interest in any business from this part of the world. Although now restricted, Unibet seem like easily the best of all these Scandinavian facing books.
